The upcoming season promises to be an unforgettable journey, where artistic freedom, revelry and depth come together. Whether you are an avid lover of Baroque music or a curious soul eager to embark on a musical adventure, in the coming season, world-class music and musicians can once again be enjoyed to the fullest!
Gloria, our project around Vivaldi's Gloria, we perform together with the National Women's Youth Choir and soloist Elisabeth Hetherington. You'll hear sadness from the pen of Carissimi, an ode to light by Handel, comforting cantatas by Bach and the radiant Gloria by Vivaldi, sung by female voices only, as in Vivaldi's time. Extraordinary, because it Gloria is rarely performed in this setting.
Lamento is an array of songs that search between complaint, regret and hope for points of light in the darkness. In this program in collaboration with the Early Music Organization, Maarten Engeltjes sings cantatas by Bach, Buxtehude, Erlebach and Tunder.
Bach's Osteroratorium for choir, orchestra and soloists is performed with the Flemish Radio Choir and a host of soloists including Sophie Junker and Fabio Trümpy. With festive music, the Easter story will be told in venues such as the Kölner Philharmonie, Flagey Brussels and Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
In those same halls, we bring with Mozart! An ode to love: an evening of Mozart's most beautiful arias and duets. Performed by none other than Rolando Villazon (!), Maarten Engeltjes, Lenneke Ruiten and Andreas Wolf.
