Maarten Engeltjes & PRJCT Amsterdam bring a special series of concerts in collaboration with Organization Early Music: Lamento. From October 27 through November 5, 2023 we travel the country with an anthology of the finest lamentations of the Baroque period.
Droning, grunting, gently soulful or heartbreakingly whining: pain can be expressed in an infinite number of ways. Add music to that mix and you get a stunning array of songs that search between complaint, regret and hope for points of light in the darkness. Maarten Engeltjes and PRJCT Amsterdam sign for Dieterich Buxtehude, Philipp Heinrich Erlebach and Johann Sebastian Bach.
