In 2021 PRJCT Amsterdam returned to the concert halls with great pleasure. On October 2, we stood before a full house again after about two years; at the Night of Poetry in a sold out TivoliVredenburg Utrecht. During the night the audience was treated to many hours of poetry from the country's best poets. Together with PRJCT Amsterdam, Maarten was asked to provide a musical intermezzo with hits from the baroque era, alongside Claudia de Breij and Jett Rebel. A great opportunity to take the audience back several centuries through mini lectures and reach their hearts with wonderful music.
Also, the concert series If Music be the Food of Love with world-famous countertenor Andreas Scholl was a huge success. With almost sold out venues and a great intense atmosphere we could not wish for a better (re)start of PRJCT Amsterdam. A third successful concert will follow on April 30, 2022 at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam.
Finally, PRJCT Amsterdam, with a small cast of voice, harpsichord, cello and theorbo, resumed its much sought-after project Virtuoso! from 24 to 28 November, in collaboration with Organisatie Oude Muziek. From the beautiful Zuidervermaning in Westzaan to De Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam, we played the most beautiful cantatas by Vivaldi and pearls by Monteverdi, until unfortunately the tour had to be stopped due to the new announced coronation measures. Fortunately enough, NPO Radio 4 was present at the last concert in Amsterdam, where they made a very successful recording for their Evening Concert. The concert is here listen back.
