The ensemble combines historically informed performance practice with dramatic vitality, stylistic refinement, and an unmistakable theatrical instinct, and collaborates with many of today’s celebrated vocal artists, including Julia Lezhneva, Rolando Villazón, Andreas Scholl, Sandrine Piau, Jeanine De Bique, Carolyn Sampson, and Valer Sabadus.

The first project, ‘A Mother’s Tears’—which included Pergolesi’s *Stabat Mater* and was created in collaboration with writer P.F. Thomése—led to a sold-out Concertgebouw in 2023. The program ‘If Music Be the Food of Love,’ featuring Andreas Scholl, also garnered widespread acclaim, with concerts at De Doelen, TivoliVredenburg, and sold-out performances at AMUZ Antwerp and Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam.

PRJCT Amsterdam regularly performs at major European venues, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Flagey in Brussels, De Doelen in Rotterdam, and the Kölner Philharmonie, as well as at numerous leading festivals throughout Europe, including the Bachfest in Leipzig and the Thüringer Bachwochen. Recent projects have spanned a wide repertoire, from Handel’s Brockes Passion and Bach’s Easter Oratorio to Purcell’s *If Music Be the Food of Love* and Mozart gala programs featuring Rolando Villazón.

The ensemble recorded its first two albums for the Sony Classical label: ‘Forgotten Arias’ (2019) and ‘Nicht Mehr Hier’ (2020), followed by the critically acclaimed Pentatone recording *Stabat Mater: A Mother’s Tears* in 2023. Praised for performances that combine transparency, expressive immediacy, and meticulous attention to text and dramaturgy, PRJCT Amsterdam creates interpretations that are both historically informed and vividly contemporary.
