Annemarie Kosten-Dür | viola

Annemarie Kosten-Dür (Feldkirch, Austria 1985) began playing the violin as a six-year-old and already felt attracted to the sound of the viola at a young age. She studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and obtained her Master’s degree in (modern) viola in 2009. Subsequently, she specialized in the baroque viola and in the historical performance practice under the direction of Walter Reiter and Kat Debretz. In addition, Annemarie Kosten-Dür obtained a Bachelor’s degree in German literature and culture from Leiden University.

Annemarie regularly performs with famous (early) music companies such as the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Vox Luminis, B’Rock Baroque Orchestra Ghent, Holland Baroque, Collegium Musicum The Hague and Concerto Stella Matutina. She has collaborated with a large number of well-known conductors and concert masters, including Ton Koopman, René Jacobs, Lars-Ulrik Mortensen, Lionel Meunier, Amandine Beyer, Alfredo Bernardini, Dmitry Sinkovsky, Richard Egarr, Maggie Faultless, Giovanni Solima and David Rabinovich. Next to her position at PRJCT Amsterdam, Annemarie also plays in the Apollo Ensemble and at Symphonie Atlantique.
